    Two Bangladeshis were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon

    Two Bangladeshi expatriates were killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon. Both the deceased are residents of Satkhira. The attack took place at their residence in Jibdin area of Nabatiyeh district on Monday (May 11) afternoon.

    The deceased are Shafiqul Islam and Md. Nahidul Islam. Shafiqul Islam’s house is in Bhaluka Chandpur area of Satkhira Sadar. His father’s name is Afsar Ali and mother’s name is Azeya Khatun.

    On the other hand, Nahidul Islam’s house is in Kadakati area of Asashuni. His father’s name is Abdul Quader and mother’s name is Nurunnahar Khatun.

    This information was informed in a condolence message sent from the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut.

    According to the embassy, they were killed on the spot when an Israeli airstrike attacked their residence in Jibdin area of Nabatieh district in southern Lebanon around 12 noon on Monday. Later their bodies were kept at Nabih Berri Hospital in Nabati.

    The Bangladesh Embassy has expressed deep grief over the death of two expatriates. At the same time, the embassy expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family members.

    In the condolence message, First Secretary (Labour) and Head of Embassy Mohammad Anwar Hossain said that the embassy has taken necessary measures for the bodies of the victims and further formalities.
